Exhibition Information
Gana Art is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of Dawn Ng from June 8 to 27 at Gana Art Nineone. Dawn Ng, an international artist from Singapore, is a multi-hyphenate visual artist, who has worked across a breadth of mediums, motives, and scale, including sculpture, photography, light, film, collage, painting, and large-scale installations. For her very first solo exhibition in Korea, Gana Art will present the “INTO AIR” series, which reflects the essence of her work dealing with time, memory, and the ephemeral through nuanced colors and diverse mediums. The “INTO AIR” series consists of three parts: “CLOCKS,” monumental photo portraits of ice pigment blocks at various stages of disintegration, “TIME LOST FALLING IN LOVE,” a series of time-lapse films, which document the complete erosion of select pigment blocks, and “ASH,” residue paintings, created by the maneuvered staining and evaporation of melted pigment through large sheets of paper. Her work, which visualizes the theme of time using the characteristics of different media, shows insight into the relativity of time.
