			Gana Art is pleased to announce a two-person exhibition Résonner with Bernard Piffaretti and HoSup Hwang in collaboration with Lisson Gallery, London. These two artists became friends during the 1980s and 1990s when they were represented by Galerie Jean Fournier, one of the oldest and most prestigious galleries in Europe. Bernard Piffaretti’s abstract painting provokes questions and commentaries on the concept of ‘copy’ and ‘originality.’ Each of his canvases is composed of two panels bisected by a single vertical line, and the artist paints one side and then replicates its abstract composition on the other side. Piffaretti’s seemingly identical images with subtle painterly variances generate a sense of irreconcilability and vivacity at the same time. Hwang HoSup goes through a repetitive and delicate process of painting or spraying color points, and washing the paint until the traces of vibrant colors remain. With layers reminiscent of color drops, Hwang presents a mystical space where the vast nebulae, endlessly resonating sound and light coexist. “Résonner,” as a French word that implies reflection and resonance, will offer an unprecedented opportunity to experience the resonance between Piffaretti and Hwang’s creative artistic world.
